Create your own mini-dance film in this 3 hour workshop! Dance on Camera, aka Screendances, aka Dance Film is a dance genre all it's own combining the movement of a camera with the movement of the body! Using the camera on your phone, this workshop will introduce you to how to capture dance and movement on through the lens of your camera. We will work in the studio first playing with different angles and perspectives of filming movement. Then, as dance film allows us to bring dance to unique spaces beyond the studio or stage, will we venture to sites around the building or in the neighborhood to find inspiring locations to shoot our dance films allowing us to also explore elements of site-specific dance. We will add filters, small cuts, and music to create a short, complete dance film to share on your social media accounts!
