What:
A MONTHLY GATHERING OF WORKS-IN-PROGRESS SHARINGS AND DIALOGUE BY LOCAL DANCEMAKERS WORKING IN ANY FORM.

3 DANCEMAKERS SHARE UP TO 10 MINUTES OF WORK.

A FACILITATED DISCUSSION WITH PARTICIPANTS AND AUDIENCE.

To be eligible for participation, artists must be age 18-80+, local, and present at a DanceChance event to put their name in the hat (yes, a literal hat) for random draw. If an artists’ name is chosen, the artist commits to presenting work at the next month’s DanceChance event.

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS RECEIVE $100 AND VIDEO DOCUMENTATION OF THEIR SHARING.

AUG 21 AT HAROLD WASHINGTON CULTURAL CENTER / THE M.A.D.D. HOUSE (4701 S MARTIN LUTHER KING DR, USE 47TH STREET ENTRANCE)

SEP 25 AT MCA (220 E CHICAGO AVE)

OCT 23 AT BIM BOM STUDIO (5226 W BELMONT AVE)

Why:

TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE WORKS-IN-PROGRESS IN LOW-STAKES SETTINGS. TO GATHER ARTISTS AND AUDIENCES FROM CHICAGO’S VARIOUS DANCE COMMUNITIES FOR DIALOGUE, SUPPORT, AND ENCOURAGEMENT. TO SUPPORT BOTH PROCESS AND PRODUCT.
