Join us as we explore the work of Chicago-based artists and their relationship to the influence of Yvonne Rainer. In partnership with Chicago Dancemakers Forum and the NEFA’s Regional Dance Development Initiative, Gallery 400 will host a panel discussion to investigate themes of temporality, the political charge of the body, the role of voice, process and labor, as it relates to movement. Featured panelists include Onye Ozuzu, dean of the School of Fine and Performing Arts at Columbia College Chicago; Ginger Krebs, current BOLT artist-in-residence; and Michelle Kranicke, artistic director of Zephyr Dance, with Ira Murfin, Northwestern PHD candidate, as moderator.
Support for this program comes through the Regional Dance Development Initiative (RDDI), a one-time multi-year stimulus in 2015-17 for the field of dance in Chicago, in partnership with the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) and their National Dance Project (NDP).
