Giordano Jazz dance technique: Learn the fundamentals of Giordano technique and implement them through a series of exercises while focusing on style and personal artistry.

About the teacher:

Eduardo Zambrana (MFA Choreography and Performance, University of Arizona) is a dancer, choreographer, and educator from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. In his performance career, Eduardo had the privilege to dance with Hawkinsdance, Convergence Ballet Company, Dance Kaleidoscope, and Giordano Dance Chicago where he is currently a company member. As a new member of Giordano Dance Chicago, he has toured with the company to several cities including New York City, NY, and Naples, FL where he performed repertoire by Autumn Eckman, Kiesha Lalama, Ray Leeper, and Al Blackstone. He received his training from The University of Arizona School of Dance triple-track program with equal emphasis in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz where he has danced works by renowned faculty such as Sam Watson, Tamara Dyke-Compton, and Michael Williams as well as many masterworks, including those by Nacho Duato, Larry Keigwin, Paul Taylor, and Martha Graham. Eduardo has worked under the leadership of former Martha Graham Dance Company dancer and rehearsal director David Hochoy. He participated in Site-responsive performances in concert with Exhibit Columbus in Columbus, Indiana, Penrod Arts Fair in Indianapolis, IN, and the Tucson Museum of Art in Tucson, AZ. Eduardo has also formed part of the cast “Friend with a Pool '' in collaboration with Jillian Bessett, Shelly Hawkins, and Julius Schlosburg, which aired at KXCI Tucson’s Community Radio in Arizona. During his time as a graduate student, Eduardo was awarded the Creative Achievement Award in the College of Fine Arts, representing the School of Dance for demonstrating exceptional creativity and innovation with a passion for the arts. His choreographic commissions include original works for New Dances 2023 (IL), Simantikos Dance Chicago (IL), Ten Tiny Dances at Taliesin West (AZ) and Dance Kaleidoscope Spirit & Place Festival (IN). Eduardo has also presented his choreography at The University of Arizona, Breaking Ground Festival (AZ), SHFT at Tempe Center for Arts (AZ), FlorenceDanceOnScreen (Italy), and Red Rock ScreenDance Film Festival (UT) where he was awarded Best Student Film in 2021.


Join us at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts for Open Technique Classes with the Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program*, on Fridays at 9:30 am. The class will feature rotating guest artists and Ruth Page School of Dance faculty. Method and technique will vary by teacher.

*Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program (PDTP) serves as a bridge between studio training and a professional dance career. Dancers train and rehearse daily 9 am - 4 pm, from August – June at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts focusing on refining ballet and contemporary technique in an international environment of performers, educators, and mentors. PDTP is designed for dancers between the ages of 17-25 who have completed high school and are preparing for a professional career. Trainees receive individualized coaching from accomplished faculty and curated international guest choreographers. The Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program also offers international travel* (when available), limited need-based scholarships, and affordable housing.
