HEDWIG DANCES SALON SERIES

THE ART OF MAKING ART

Creating ASCENDance

Sunday, November 22 @ 3 PM Central

ASCENDance is an evening-length interdisciplinary dance theater work exploring the themes of renewal and transformation in a chaotic world. This multi-media collaboration is such that each component -- movement, sculpture, video, lighting, and music -- influenced the direction of the created art, and was, in turn, affected by it. Hedwig Dances' artistic director and choreographer Jan Bartoszek, collaborated with the creative team of sculptor Barbara Cooper, video projection designer Petra Bachmaier of luftwerk, composer Matthew Ferraro, costume designer Vin Reed, lighting designer Ken Bowen, and Hedwig Dances' company member and artistic associate Maray Gutierrez.

All are invited to register for this free week-long event that is composed of two parts: first, an opportunity to view, on-demand, this critically acclaimed work when your schedule permits during the week of November 15 to 22, 2020. Your pre-registration will also grant you access to the live question and answer portion of the Sunday Salon with Jan and her ASCENDance collaborators on Sunday, November 22 at 3 pm Central. Registration is free for both portions of this event, however your contribution will help Hedwig Dances continue to cover expenses and its operating costs.

The performance recording of ASCENDance streams the week of November 15 to 22, 2020 and culminates in the Creating ASCENDance salon which takes place on Sunday, November 22 @ 3 PM.

ASCENDance streaming events (performance + salon) are coupled. Tickets are from $0 to $25. We encourage everyone to pay. Hedwig Dances relies on donations to cover the cost of the event and our operations.

Links to both aspects of this event, the ASCENDance performance recording and the Creating ASCENDance salon will be sent to registrants beginning seven to 10 days prior.
