“History in Motion -- Dance in Chicago, Past and Present" is presented by the Chicago Dance History Project, in conjunction with the Auditorium Theatre’s “Made in Chicago” Dance Series.
During its second engagement at the Auditorium Theatre on January 9, Thodos Dance Chicago will premiere "Sono’s Journey". This talk — the second in a series of events programmed by Chicago Dance History Project in conjunction with the Auditorium Theatre’s Department of Creative Engagement — will focus on the inspiration for this piece, Japanese-American dance artist Sono Osato, and her family’s experiences in Chicago.
An esteemed panel includes Company Founder Melissa Thodos; Robert Karr Jr., president of Project 120 Chicago; and Sharon Lear, president of Thodos Dance Chicago’s board of directors. Questions are welcome.
