Event Description

House of DOV presents an evening of live performance at the Adler Planetarium, Friday, July 23rd at 7PM. The event features a World Premiere by director Drew Lewis titled delirium (honesty), as well as guest works by HOMESICK Productions (NYC) and C-LS/Club Shamoun (NYC). The ticketed performance will take place outdoors on the Nancy A. Petrovich Skyline Terrace. Masks are required.

delirium (honesty), a piece for three Chicago-based dancers, meditates on embodied rage, fragility, exhaustion, and ultimately delirium. Diaristic in nature, delirium is an account of embodied states felt during the time of the pandemic—a measure of temperature shifts both inside the individual body and the body of the state. The piece is scored to a live techno set by Tushrik Fredericks (NYC). View trailer here: https://vimeo.com/555741288

Additional works as part of the evening include a new solo, Show & Tell, by Madison Wada and the return of crowd favorite NO FALSE IDOLS by C-LS director Lydia Shamoun.

Tickets will be available to purchase for $20 on July 8th at www.houseofdov.com/upcoming. Metered street parking and spots in the Chicago Park District’s adjacent lot are available for use. A wheelchair accessible entrance is located to the right of the Planetarium’s main entrance.

This event is supported in part by MOMENTA Performing Arts Company, The Academy of Movement & Music, and Palette & Chisel Art Academy.
