In/Motion, Chicago's Dance Film Festival, celebrates dance performance within digital media platforms by encouraging artists to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and presenting movement-based artworks. In/Motion connects Chicago's vibrant dance and film communities with national and international artists through short and feature dance film screenings, master classes, live performances, and networking events with audiences and other dance film artists. In/Motion has a specific interest in presenting work with an emphasis on social justice, and several events carry a social justice theme.
This year, award-winning dance filmmaker Celia Rowlson-Hall will screen her feature film MA, lead a dicussion on dance and the female body as a storytelling vehicle and guide a master class on dance and political activism.
