Friday, March 22nd - 7:30PM Damen Cinema - Enjoy a screening of the best short dance films from around the world, followed by a presentation of the I/M Audience Choice, Social Justice and Special Selection Grand Jury Awards. Grand Jury panelists include Roell Schmidt of Links Hall, Sophia Wolfe from Canada's Festival of Recorded Movement, and award-winning filmmakers Tommy Pascal and Amie Dowling. Join us downstairs at Ireland’s pub post-show for our After Party in celebration of our incredible dance filmmakers and our 5th year anniversary.
EMERGING ARTISTS SHOWCASE
Saturday, March 23rd - 3:00PM Damen Cinema - Come immerse yourself in the dance film world from an emerging artist’s perspective with a screening of select short films produced by student and first-time filmmakers. This event will be an exploration of the new trends and new voices in the art form across the globe, with a short Q&A and opportunity to meet some of the filmmakers immediately following the screening.

SCREENING OF SHAMEL PITTS’ ‘BLACK SERIES’
Saturday, March 23rd - 7:30PM Damen Cinema - We will be screening, former Batsheva dancer and independent performance artist, Shamel Pitts' three stunning stories and visuals including the films Black Box: The Short Film by Aviv Maaravi, Black Velvet: Architectures and Archetypes, and Black Hole: Trilogy and Triathlon. Following the screening, Chris Manning will moderate an in-depth conservation with Shamel himself.
SHAMEL PITTS’ MASTERCLASS
Sunday, March 24th - 11:00AM Mundelein Center Rm 409 - NO DANCE EXPERIENCE NEEDED! Join us for a 3-part workshop with renown dancemaker and performance artist Shamel Pitts. Part I: We'll engage in a dialogue with Shamel about creating movement for film and the stage. Part II: Participants will take a Gaga class. Gaga is a movement language that offers a way to strengthen the body, improve flexibility, agility, efficiency and awaken the senses and imagination. Part III: Shamel will guide a creative process in community with workshop participants.
