The Making Space Showcase is an exciting evening of dance featuring the work of new and emerging choreographers in an informal, interactive performance setting. Making Space, a choreographer's forum sponsored by Ballet 5:8, provides a unique, positive space where choreographers can create, experiment, see their work come to life on the stage, and engage in discussion with the audience. The Making Space Showcase, culminating the Making Space project, features a wide variety of dance-based works created by participating choreographers.
During the performance, hosted at Ballet 5:8's studios in Frankfort, IL, each choreographer provides a personal introduction to their work. After the work is performed, the choreographer returns to the stage for a Question & Answer segment. During this time, audience members are encouraged to share impressions, comments and constructive feedback on the work.
