Back by popular demand, Navy Pier’s 2nd Annual Planet Chicago program is set to showcase half a
dozen of Chicago’s finest dance companies in a series of Pier-wide performances on Friday, August 25 from 5:30
p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The free event is inspired by the legacy of the popular Chicago Dancing Festival, which included
the Pier last year as a new location in its 10th and final installment. Navy Pier now continues the tradition in the
form of a full two-hour program that includes a festive and interactive dance procession along the lakefront.
Participating dance companies and organizations include Chicago Samba, Forward Momentum Chicago, Galaxie Girls and Chorus Girls, Hiplet Chicago, Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago, and Muntu Dance Theater of Chicago.
