Emma Draves presents 'The Quiet Hours' @Dovetail Studios, May 24 & 25, 7:30pm
With virtuosic, wringing, and mundane gestures The Quiet Hours maps the dark hours of Dusk into the bright unveiling of Dawn: exploring independence and interdependence, and tracking how we comfort ourselves in the quiet hours of the day. Through phrases rich in articulated flow countered with binding musculature, dancers unravel physical entaglements and mesh idiosyncratic physicalities with saturated consciousness. This evening-length premier manifests from a process situated in the banal, the bizarre, and the beautiful of everyday experiences.
