Salt Creek Ballet brings Sleeping Beauty: Aurora’s Wedding and Additional Repertoire to the McAninch Arts Center Saturday, May 16th at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 17th at 1:00 p.m. Join Salt Creek Ballet for Princess Aurora’s Wedding, with Little Red Riding Hood, Puss ‘n Boots and the White Cat in attendance. Additional Salt Creek Ballet repertoire will complete the performance, including two World Premieres, Capricco Espangol by Ilya Kozadayev and MOZ-heart by Eddy Ocampo.
Mr. Kozadayev has had recent commissions for Boston Ballet’s Raw Dance project, Houston Ballet and Kansas City Ballet. His new work for Salt Creek Ballet is a classically inspired, energy-filled work showcasing SCB’s superb skill. Ocampo, an internationally renowned contemporary choreographer and dance teacher, has created ballets in Europe, Mexico, Canada, Russia and throughout the U.S. with companies including Giordano Dance Chicago, Luna Negra Dance Theatre and Thodos Dance Chicago. Perfect for young and old alike, come see the company now celebrating its 30th anniversary of critical acclaim.
Tickets for are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $20 for youth (under 18). In addition, following the Sunday, May 17th performance, SCB will host “Aurora’s Ballet Class ONSTAGE” where children ages 3-10 can join the cast of Sleeping Beauty for a magical opportunity to dance onstage! Meet costumed characters and learn some dance steps onstage before being treated to cookies and punch. Additional $5/child
