Event Description

Join See Chicago Dance virtually for the next installment of  Screendance Club on Wednesday, January 25th at 5 PM CST. Screendance Club is a radically casual virtual watch party and discussion of short dance films. Unlike a typical talk-back, Screendance Club aims to set the atmosphere for an open conversation and exploration; with artists, filmmakers, and viewers on an equal footing. Screendance Club is a FREE event open to all ages.

This installment of Screendance Club features "The Good Christian" by Motion/Pictures Dance Project's Talia Koylass. The Good Christian is a dance film that addresses religion and spirituality in the Black Community from both a historical and present day vantage point and explores how Black people have used something that often tries to exclude them as a way to deal with suffering and oppression. Spirituality looks different on everyone but still has the potential to be inclusive and used as a source of joy and discovery.
