Shift/ed

Esoteric Dance Project presents the performance series Shift/ed, premiering four diverse and intensely crafted works by fellow Artistic Directors Brenna Pierson-Tucker and Christopher Tucker. Chiaroscuro delves into the fascinating and compulsory emotional contrast of light and dark and the ultimate affect that it has on a composition as a whole. After the Nickel Runs Out is a fictional exploration into the peculiar and often haunting lives of Vaudevillian Peep Show performers. In Em-Em-Dubs, ideas from quantum mechanics as well as hints of string theory are explored and presented in ways that are at once bizarre yet humorous. With Translate to 2, the dancers are forced, being  tethered together, to navigate their athletic movement in conjunction with another body.
