The Shimmy Showdown is a raucous, rowdy, and ridiculous "death match" style improv burlesque show that pits Chicago's best burlesque performers head-to-head and heel-to-six inch heel. After its long running popularity in St. Louis, conceived by world famous showgirl, Lola Van Ella, the Shimmy Showdown finally makes its way to Chicago with twelve of the midwest's best and fiercest performers vying for the title of Shimmy Showdown Champion.
Bazuka Joe has headlined as a soloist and with the award winning all male burlesque troupe The Stage Door Johnnies throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Japan. Trained in contemporary dance, theater, and vault staff, he is also a seasoned teacher and instructor with more than ten years of experience as a professional choreographer and teacher.
