A new dance work with stunning visuals by influential Scottish artist, Fraser Taylor.
For its 22nd Season, The Seldoms collaborate once again with Fraser Taylor. In Sightline, figures skirt and fleet in and out of view, drawing attention to how we see one another in our worlds. The Seldoms' ensemble of six extraordinary dancers move in and around Taylor's set—twelve column-like vertical textiles—creating situations of concealment, distance, and surprise. The dancers wear boldly geometric, black and white garments from Taylor's HAXTON line.
Sightline choreographer and The Seldoms' Artistic Director, Carrie Hanson, and Taylor have previously collaborated on several of the company’s signature projects, including Marchland (2010), a commission from the Museum of Contemporary Art, and “Toolbox”, a cross-disciplinary dialogue project that was conceived in 2017 over a week-long residency in Glasgow and more recently the centerpiece of a 2022 exhibit at the Hyde Park Art Center.
