Red Clay Dance Company presents its annual Spring Concert at the Beverly Arts Center. ,
"The bond between a father and daughter is a sacred one and is vital to her development into womanhood. A girl’s father is one of the most influential people in her life. His influence shapes her self-esteem, self-image, confidence and opinions of men.” Founder and Executive Artistic Director, Vershawn Ward premieres her first evening-length work, “ri’flekSHens in 6”, inspired by the relationship with her own father. Presented in 6 sections, the choreography is an introspective exploration of the complex link fathers and daughters share expressed through Red Clay Dance’s signature Afro-Contemporary movement. The performance environment is enhanced by high-impact projected images and video captured exclusively for this work by award winning photographer Marta Garcia.
