Synapse Arts is thrilled to be celebrating a decade of growing, collaborating, and shaping the Chicago cultural landscape. We would like to invite you to continue to share in this journey during a special showing of Synapse Arts’ capstone evening-length performance, a culmination of the company’s tenth anniversary season entitled You’re So Stubborn. This performance is presented as part of Spin Off, a month-long performance series hosted by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
You’re So Stubborn is a gut-rending, vulnerable dance-theatre piece that investigates instincts, relationships, and the elusive concept of trust. The universal sensation of discovering a lie is revealed in the true stories of performers and audiences as they traverse the landscape of deception. You’re So Stubborn has been described by critics as "superb and subtle...the audience was held rapt by the macabre".
Please join us for a work-in-progress showing of this fascinating and haunting dance-theater piece on Saturday, November 22 at 1PM at the historic Chicago Cultural Center. This showing is free and open to the public. In addition to the performance, please also join artistic director Rachel Damon and creative devisers Kristina Fluty and Brian Shaw for a post-performance panel and question & answer session.
