Synapse Arts is dedicated to body based research and the creation of original dance-theater works. Synapse performances encourage viewers to evaluate their perceptions; stereotypes and social roles are stretched and reimagined, revealing what is strange and beautiful in everyday environments.
Our collaborative process invents artworks that incorporate strong visual elements, original sound scores, and innovative environments to create a dynamic emotional experience.
Driven by a passion to create and engage, our purpose is to make art that generates dialogue and builds a more active community through performance and education.
For a decade Synapse has remained dedicated to the Chicago cultural landscape by keeping our events available to all by doing site-specific works and keeping admission prices inexpensive or free.
