Vision, Faith, & Desire has played to sold out houses at the Ruth Page Center and the Pritzker Pavilion Stage. And we're doing it again! This time we're presenting another group of artists at another fabulous venue: Oak Park's Historic Pleasant Home. This program will feature works by Randy Duncan, Deb Goodman, Winifred Haun, RE/Dance, Graham principal dancer, Yuriko and a film by Alex Springer and Xan Burley. Each dance or film will be presented in a different room in the house. Audiences will get to enjoy the dances and the prairie style architecture of Pleasant Home. There's also free drinks and snacks, and if you arrive an hour early, you can get a free tour of the house.
Background: Vision, Faith, & Desire (VFD) began in early 2013 as a collaborative venture between Ms. Haun and Ms. Leopold. The project’s goal is to provide a platform for artists to situate their choreographic voices within the rich historical lineage of modern dance. VFD III represents a continuation of this goal by presenting artists who are part the lineage of Martha Graham’s technique and choreography. For its inaugural event in September 2013, VFD garnered great critical acclaim, including features in the Huffington Post, Chicago Tonight’s (WTTW) new Artbeat: Inside the Arts Blog, Dance Teacher magazine, RogueBallerina.com, and many others.
