In a program of astonishing range, Chicago audiences will enjoy a paramount masterpiece loved and performed the world over, George Balanchine’s Serenade, plus three innovative new works, two by Resident Choreographer Ted Seymour, and one by Artistic Director Daniel Duell. Audiences will enjoy Maurice Ravel’s captivating scores “Introduction and Allegro for Harp, Flute, Clarinet and String Quartet,” and his “Mother Goose Suite”as well Gabriel Faure’s rapturous “Concerto for Harp”, a series of musical miniatures by Igor Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky’s sublime “Serenade for Strings”. All of these scores provide a rich musical landscape of unparalleled beauty and charm for choreography, past and present.
