Approaches to Radical Dance Pedagogies is an applied discussion that offers up a framework for exploring the modalities through which dance is taught and learned. With the understanding that the experience of taking a dance class can be an anxiety- and/or shame-inducing experience for many students, we have spent our careers actively crafting anti-white supremacist approaches to the teaching of our respective forms: bharatanatyam for Anjal and contemporary dance for Gina. We hope to share our insights, invite your own reflections, and together examine the theoretical foundations, experiential knowledge, and relevant applications of our respective radical dance pedagogies.
