Contretemps Contemporary Ballet’s mission is to create opportunities for dancers and dancemakers whose bodies and identities have been historically excluded from ballet.
Intrinsically radical, we believe in ballet that promotes body diversity, embraces the non-binary, and subverts expectations. Contretemps Contemporary Ballet is a feminist, anti-racist, anti-patriarchial, pro-worker, LGBTQIA+-affirming organization. Our work serves to foster a new generation of diverse leaders in the field. We produce original works of provocation and urgency.
