The Chicago SummerDance in the Parks series returns this summer, presented with the Chicago Park District. Dancers of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in family and creative activities from 4:30–5:30pm and introductory dance lessons by professional instructors followed by live music and dancing from 5:30–7:30pm. Salsa in the Park with music by Chicago Latin Groove, dance instruction by Latin Street
Pop Up Performances:
4:30 – 4:45: Open Jazz dance class for all ages with Melissa Metro from the Joel Hall Dancers and Center
4:50 – 5:05: Korean Drumming and Dance by The Korean Cultural Performing Arts Institute of Chicago
5:10 – 5:25: Contemporary Dance Performance by re|dance group

Ishti Collective
Ishti Collective invites all to participate in an interactive art installation of Rangoli. Rangoli is a colorful and creative expression of Indian Folk Art popular where colorful designs are drawn on the floor or the entrances of homes. It is thought to bring good luck, prosperity to the house, and to welcome guests. Families can stop by to try their hand at making different types of Rangolis from all around the Indian subcontinent using everything from chalk to lentils!
