No nuts involved.
Well…
"Virtuosity of Forgetting" is the newest branch of our "Stamina of Curiosity" project. In it we are walking (stumbling?) closer to the edge of where the ground of making gives way to the groundlessness of performing. We are exploring distance collaboration, mysterious texts and voice memos, and a rhythmic, wave-like coming together to contemplate the new while discovering the new in our existing works "The Delicate Hour" and its predecessor "Sharks Before Drowning." We are taking seriously (with hilarious interludes) how little we know, even as some tendrils of our group and individual expertise seem to take shape. The piece was originally called "Virtuosity of Memory." As time passes, I’m more interested in how memory and forgetting collide and conflate, confuse and compound, catalyze and catastrophize all we think we know. We keep learning that there are people we meet—each other, you, our lost selves and un/forgotten loves—when we stop pretending to know. Anything. If this explanation makes no sense that’s good news: the dance is sure to outdo the logic of these words.
