CHICAGO – Ruth Page Center of the Arts is proud to present its annual, Ruth Page Festival of Dance at Ravinia with two performances of “Ruth Page Professional Dance and Friends,” on Thursday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m., at Ravinia’s Bennett Gordon Hall, 201 St. Johns Ave. Gates open an hour before the concert start time. The Ruth Page Professional Dance Training Program brings the elegance, artistry, and creative daring of its boundary-breaking namesake opening with a romantic ballet, La Bayaderé, “Gamzatti’s Friends.” Stone Soup Rhythms, featuring Jumaane Taylor, then a performance from the Training Program titled, “Dualidad.” The second act opens with the premiere of “Apophenia” which was created during Adrián Marcelo Sáenz’s choreographic and teaching residency with the Training Program in February 2024. The Moonwater Dance Project will then perform “Montage” and the evening concludes with “La Tierra de Canela y Maíz” (The Land of Cinnamon and Corn) created during Francisco Aviña’s choreographic and teaching residency with the Training Program in September 2023.
