MOMENTA: Dancing Our Legacy

MOMENTA presents Dancing Our Legacy, featuring works that span more than a century and a half. Historical works beginning with August Bournonville’s delightful La Ventana from 1856 to Loië Fuller’s 1896 Le Lys (Lily of the Nile). Doris Humphrey’s 1920 collaboration with Ruth St. Denis’ Soaring to Humphrey’s 1928 Concerto in A Minor (Grieg). We then look back at our own history and the return of choreographer Sarita Smith Childs who is recreating her work from 1999, Bound, to the premiere of two works ~ one a piece of classic jazz by choreographer Laura Brand, the other a collaboration by Anita Fillmore Kenney and Raphaelle Ziemba to music by Eric Whitacre sung live by the Pro Musica Chorus.
