Founded in 1972, Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago is the premier dance
company of authentic and contemporary interpretations of ancient African
and African-American dance, music, and folklore. Muntu instructors will
teach traditional and contemporary African dance forms accompanied by a
master drummer. The dance instruction will consist of sequential
sessions, allowing students to develop techniques and applications of
skills in this artistic discipline. African dance is a barefoot art
form, great cardio, and strengthens core muscles. Muntu Dance Company.
