Created by Erica Mott and featuring Jason Torres Hancock, Christopher Knowlton, Bryan Saner, and Brian Shaw with music by Ryan Ingebritsen, the final performance of Cowboys and Vikings Across Chicago, Trials and Trails, will be presented Thursday-Friday, Sept. 24-25 at 7:30pm at the Steelworkers Park in Calumet (9801 S. Avenue G)
Cowboys and Vikings Across Chicago is an outdoor, site-specific multimedia performance series bringing into question the contemporary reinvention of historical figures and events.
Performances will be presented in Chicago's historic and impressive Calumet neighborhood at the Steelworkers Park, easily accessible by the Red Line 87th Street stop, the 87 bus and the 30 bus. Rain or Shine.
How to get to the performance: From Southbound Lake Shore Drive:
1. Turn east (left) onto E. 87th Street
2. Keep to the right of the concrete barriers, carry on straight to the cul-de-sac (approx. 1 block). This is the entrance to Steelworkers Park. (If you are driving, there is FREE street parking on 87th Street or in the cul-de-sac at the entrance of Steelworkers Park).
3. When facing the lake, the performance will take place to the north (left) of the park entrance. You will see 30’ high walls that span the length of the park. Follow the path towards these walls. (approx. 20 yards).
Bleacher seating will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own chair or blanket and a picnic to enjoy during the performance!
