Kaleidoscope Choreographers Festival

Alliance Dance Company presents our 2nd Annual Choreographers Festival - Kaleidoscope.

Last year was a big success with the final show a sellout.  This year is even bigger.

If a Kaleidoscope operates on the principle of multiple reflection,
then this dance festival is truly such!

You will not want to miss a chance to see one of the most diverse dance festivals
in Chicago with works created by 25 choreographers from the Midwest region.

Over 60 pieces were submitted for consideration by committee to bring you
a different show each night!

Eco and social justice in “Through Fish Eyes” and “She’s Auspicious”

The temperature is cooling down, but for Chicago dancers the Fall season is where things really start to heat up! Kicking off their Fall season with a bang is Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts, who are presenting two series of works this September: four free public performances of “Through Fish Eyes,” choreographed by Kasi Aysola and featuring Maryland-based Prakriti Dance; and “She’s Auspicious,” a work by Mythili Prakash exploring the interchange between goddess worship and the treatment of women in society.

Intergenerational ripples of memory come to life in “Hisako’s House”

Physical spaces, like a childhood home or favorite park, evoke vivid memories and serve as tangible markers of past experiences. These locations, with their unique sensory details, anchor our memories, making the past feel immediate and accessible and allowing us to relive moments from our lives through our once-inhabited spaces.

Atonement

Witness the U.S. premiere of renowned choreographer Cathy Marston's 'Atonement' in her re-imagining of Ian McEwan’s 2001 novel-turned Academy Award®-winning film.

The poignant story follows Briony Tallis, revealed in the book as its author and now portrayed in the ballet as a celebrated choreographer, as she grapples with the haunting echoes of her past through a breathtaking dance of redemption.
