Screendance Club is a radically casual virtual watch party and discussion of short dance films. Unlike a typical talk-back, Screendance Club aims to set the atmosphere for an open conversation and exploration; with artists, filmmakers, and viewers on an equal footing. Screendance Club is a FREE event open to all ages.
Just in time for Spring, dropshift dance returns to Links Hall with “THRIVE,” a one-night event featuring works created using a collaborative process between the choreographers and dancers.
The program begins with Jill Moshman’s work-in-progress, “Every Single Thing,” and “Excerpts from unexplained phenomena” (2022), with dancers Julia Larcenaire, Alynn Parola and Moshman, original sound by Alex Mah.
Thodos Dance Chicago and DanceWorks Chicago are excited to collaborate on New Dances 2023 and continue a shared tradition of developing choreographic talent and serving Chicago’s dance community.
This year marks the 100th birthday of Gerald Arpino, one of the 20th century's most influential artists. As the culminating event in a multiyear salute to this extraordinary choreographer and co-founder/director of The Joffrey Ballet, The Gerald Arpino Foundation announces the Chicago Centennial Celebration featuring ballet companies from across the country performing the choreographer’s works on one stage. Performances take place September 23 and 24, 2023 at the Auditorium Theatre. For more information, visit: www.arpinofoundation.org.
