INTERESTED ARTISTS MAY APPLY TO PERFORM IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING DDCF PROGRAMS:

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALL APPLICANTS:
DDCF 2020 will be held from September 11 - 13, 2020 at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Choreographers and dancers are encouraged to attend all three days of the festival.

The festival opens with an informational orientation session on Friday, September 11, which all choreographers and dancers are encouraged to attend, and at least one representative from your group/company is required to attend.

Length of your submitted work:
Group pieces must be 10 minutes or less (including set-up and strike).
Solos must be 7 minutes or less (including set-up and strike).
Applicants are welcome to submit work in any style of dance.

There are 2 steps required to complete the application process:
1) Fill out and submit the appropriate application form.
2) Submit your application fee payment.

Choreographers Showcase
Date: Saturday, September 12, 2020
Time: Afternoon/evening; exact performance time TBD
Location: Detroit Film Theatre, at the Detroit Institute of Arts

The Choreographers Showcase is one of DDCF's most highly anticipated indoor performance events, providing a platform for choreographers to present their work on the majestic Detroit Film Theatre stage. DDCF's Choreographers Showcase is an opportunity to bring together artists and dancers from around the world to share their current projects with each other, and with DDCF audiences alike. Pieces will be thoughtfully selected to showcase an inclusive representation of local, national, and international talent.

DDCF FESTIVAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM
All accepted Choreographers Showcase participants will automatically be considered for the DDCF Festival Exchange Program. This unique initiative gives presenters at the 2020 Choreographers Showcase the opportunity to be selected to perform their work again the following year at one of DDCF's partnering international festivals, listed below. Festival Exchange Program recipients will be selected from among our Choreographer Showcase presenters by a panel of adjudicators who represent excellence and expertise in the field.

*National Opportunities:

One Choreographer will be selected for the opportunity to perform at the 2021 Dumbo Dance Festival in New York, NY.

One Choreographer will be selected for the opportunity to return as a guest performer at the 2021 Detroit Dance City Festival.

*International Opportunity:

One Choreographer will be selected for the opportunity to perform at the 2021 New Dance Festival in Daejeon, South Korea.

Summer Stage

Location: Outdoor stage on the North Lawn of the Detroit Institute of Arts

APPLY HERE FOR SUMMER STAGE:
DDCF's Summer Stage is a series of performance showcases on an outdoor stage located on the beautiful grounds of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Performances are held both on Saturday and Sunday throughout the day, as part of DDCF's family and community-friendly Dancing in the Park program. As the main event of our Dancing in the Park program, Summer Stage is designed to showcase the diverse work of local, national, and international talent in a unique outdoor setting.

FEES & DEADLINE(S):
EARLY BIRD APPLICATION: $35 per work (by FEBRUARY 15, 2020)
REGULAR APPLICATION: $40 per work (by MARCH 15, 2020)
