At CRDT we define the Summer Internship as an introduction into professional concert dance. Our mission for the program is to support a dream for young artists wanting to pursue dance and train them in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and diverse environment.
The program will consist of 4 weeks of professional development that includes compensated daily company class and rehearsal with our second company (CRDT 2) and our main professional ensemble, as well as individual mentorship with our senior performing artists. Over the course of the four weeks the Interns will be given journal prompts and research to accompany their experience in the studio. Each week our educational/outreach coordinator will meet with them about their reflections and their goals, and help them shape their time with us in a rewarding way.
COMPENSATION:
Each dancer hired (4 total) will receive $205 a week stipend for their studio class and rehearsal time. Totaling at $821 for each dancer at the end of the Internship.
Our weekly schedule is as follows:
Monday -- Thursday 9:30am to 2:30pm
Location: Extensions Dance Studio (3933 N. Elston -- 2nd floor)
9:30-11 is Company Warm-up Class
11-12 is Rehearsal
12-12:30 Lunch Break
12:30-2:30 Rehearsal
