Deeply Rooted Dance Theater hosts its annual Dance Education Spring Showcase, this year honoring the legacy of co-founders Kevin Iega Jeff and Gary Abbott, with a special performance from the Deeply Rooted company!
The evening begins with a pre-show event titled “I Am Deeply Rooted: Our Founders in Conversation with Cleo Parker Robinson.” The legendary Cleo Parker Robinson, artistic director of Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, has a long, special connection with both Gary and Iega – you won’t want to miss hearing the incredible stories of three dance luminaries.
Following the pre-show talk is the performance celebrating Abbott and Iega, featuring performances by the professional company and participants in the company’s Dance Education programs, including the Youth Ensemble, Mature H.O.T. Women, and Men Moving. This momentous night will celebrate Jeff and Abbott legacies, which have impacted dance in Chicago and all over the world.
