Ensemble Español presents its distinct multi-media Spanish dance and music lecture concert series Tales of Spain, specially designed for school audiences of all grades and levels. This program is an introduction to the art of Spanish dance and to the growing popularity, understanding and appreciation of Hispanic culture. The concert offers the most dramatic intriguing elements of dance and movement. Beautifully costumed and accompanied by piano, Flamenco guitar and singing, Galician shells and bagpipes, “palmas” (hand-clapping), and “pitos” (finger-snapping), this unique dance, music and lecture concert presents a panorama of Spain from the elegant Classical dances to the colorful Folklore to the exciting and fiery Flamenco! Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater will have you and your students dancing in your seats and shouting “Olé!” Tales of Spain is produced by Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater in residence at Northeastern Illinois University.
