Inside/Out is our annual series inviting you INSIDE the creative process. Experience works in progress and shape them with your feedback and input.
On August 23 we present our annual FREE lunchtime concert in the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium at Harold Washington Library.
This unique event is a blend of our Inside/Out programs - where we share works in progress and discuss them with you - and a showcase for several of the new pieces we're making in 2018. You're likely to see selections of these works in progress:
> American Catracho (part 3) by Wilfredo Rivera
> ROOT: mwanzo wa mwili ni roho by Monique Haley and Joe Cerqua
> The Process Takes a LIfetime by Pharez Whitted and Joshua 'Stretch' Ishmon
> Sin Fronteras by Wilfredo Rivera and Clarice Assad, arrangement by Stu Greenspan
Our dance ensemble and members of our jazz band will perform the works in progress for you. You will hear from some of our composers and choreographers, as well as our company of dancers and musicians. They'll share their inspiration, their partnership, and their creative process. You will play an important role too, sharing your thoughts and input about the themes and the art in the making. We may even improvise on the spot to incorporate your ideas!
