Our innovative Inside/Out series returns to Links Hall in Avondale!
Join us to preview and discuss the ongoing evolution of BECOMING, a section of our evening-length work exploring gender identity, IDENTITY CITY, which will debut in June.
Work in progress will be performed and discussed by members of our company. Music by Cofounder Joe Cerqua and choreography by Katlin Bourgeois, CRDT's resident choreographer and newly appointed Head of the new Contemporary Ballet Trainee Program at Joffrey Ballet
This three-year project, launched in 2020, is inspired by non-binary/gender queer and trans Chicago dance artists. Cerqua Rivera collaborators have embarked on an inquiry into the fast-evolving definitions of gender identity. This exploration involves questioning traditional roles, exploring progressive identities, and navigating the conflicting crossroads where communities meet. BECOMING, which we'll share and discuss at this event, centers on gender non-binary/gender queer experience.
Tickets $15 - 30.
Inside/Out is our interactive event series that showcases works in progress and invites you INSIDE the creative process. Each event includes performance of new work-in-the-making, conversation with the artists, audience participation activities, and the opportunity for you to shape the new work with your feedback and input.
