Overview

Danceloop Chicago brings the unique, unusual, witty, sometimes quirky perspectives of two choreographers and artistic directors, Paula Frasz and Dmitri Peskov. Frasz, a Chicago native and 20-year veteran of the Chicago dance scene finds humor and pathos in her dances based upon her purely American experience and feminine point of view. The Russian-born Dmitri Peskov provides the counterpoint exploring universal themes and psychological subjects from his cosmopolitan experience and masculine perspective. Both choreographers utilize their theatrical backgrounds, not only in subject, but in stagecraft, music and entertaining presentation.

Frasz Peskov Dance Company (nfp), a theatrical modern dance company, was founded in 2001 by Co-Artistic Directors Paula Frasz and Dmitri Peskov, and a nine-member Board of Directors, dedicated to bringing high-quality, audience-friendly modern dance to the City of Chicago and its environs. Frasz, a 20-year veteran of the Chicago dance community and Peskov, a Russian-born choreographer, have combined their talents and energies to create a mulitcultural and multigenerational organization. Not-for-Profit status was achieved in 2002.
