Erica Maya Dance Shoes is the solution to a very personal problem. While Erica Maya started her career in dance almost 20years ago, she'd often heard that dance shoes should be tight and painful because they would stretch. After years of social dancing and believing that to be true, she got used to the pain and thought it was normal. When finally accepting dance as a constant part of life and not just a hobby, she began to buy and subsequently sell shoes to her classmates as a way to fund her dance passion. After experiencing many different brands, she realized there still wasn't a perfect shoe to help a whole team of competitive dancers, her now current dance addiction, so she created her own. She competed on stages such as World Salsa Summit, World Latin Cup, Montreal Salsa Convention and many more. The many years of dancing in the wrong shoes, however, created significant damage to her feet. Competition had to be set aside for healing and thus cutting her dance dream short.
