Evanston Dance Ensemble nurtures the power and artistry of talented young adults by creating inventive performances and programs of the highest quality, reflecting the diversity of our community and fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and creative expression. EDE is known for its inventive treatment of stories and themes and for collaborating with Chicago's top choreographers and designers. Some of our renowned shows include: Alice in Wonderland, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, 2001: A Dance Odyssey, Body of Work, On Site: putting dance on the map. The Ensemble extends its involvement into the community with its second company, ede2 bringing original work, to libraries, senior centers and schools.
Other programs offered by EDE are The Young Choreographers Project, giving creative opportunity to tomorrow's choreographers today and Jump for Joy, bringing dance to children with special needs using our ensemble members as teachers and mentors. EDE is a not-for-profit organization, in residence at Dance Center Evanston.
