Overview

Born and raised in Riverside, California, to a first generation Mexican-American father and an African American mother that both came from poverty, Faith was instilled with deep values of hard work, faith, and community. These would prove valuable when she decided to start training in dance at age fourteen. Although fourteen is considered a late start for aspiring professionals, Faith quickly grew in her capabilities and artistry by training for countless hours during the week. She went on to attend Oral Roberts University and graduated in 2020 as the Outstanding Senior for the Theatre, Dance, and Visual Arts Department with a B.A. in Dance Performance. While in college she developed a love for choreography and was chosen to present her work at the ACDA Central Conference in 2018. After graduating faith moved to Chicago to work as a professional dancer and currently dances with South Chicago Dance Theatre. Faith is also an active freelancer throughout Chicago and the midwest and has had the opportunity to work with Chicago-based artists Kia S. Smith, Terrence Marling, Noelle Kayser, and Jackie Nowicki. Faith is also a passionate dance educator and has taught classes at Ballet 5:8, local dance studios, and multiple schools in Chicago and Berwyn Public School Districts. Overall, as an artist she seeks to unite people by highlighting universal aspects of human life and enjoys creating versatile and authentic works derived from research, current issues, faith, and culture.
