Overview
A House Unbuilt is an archive and movement laboratory that uses performances, workshops, and more casual engagements to create accessible events in non-traditional venues that empower performers and audience to become co-creators. It works to develop and propagate training techniques that bridge art, education and enterprise; to provide mentoring and leadership in the local and national arts communities; and to position dialogue as a dance in the consciousness of those outside the Arts. It frames these exchanges as social choreography, a form of movement research that uses the language of dance to bridge the needs of specific, local communities with the strategies and tactics of social practice art.
