The mission of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County is to foster the cultural and aesthetic life of the district. To help fulfill this mission, the James Lumber Center operates with the following statement of purpose: Statement of Purpose Provide a state-of-the-art performance facility to support the academic programs at the College of Lake County Encourage audience development by presenting artistic events of the highest quality that broaden and enrich aesthetic awareness and appreciation Serve as a cultural resource center for Lake County and surrounding areas by offering diverse activities which represent a variety of disciplines and cultures Provide access opportunities for Lake County residents, civic organizations and businesses for presentational needs.
