Nomi Dance Company (formally NoMi LaMad Dance, Inc.)  is a not-for-profit, 501©(3) organization founded in July 2007 under the Artistic Direction of Laura Kariotis. The company was officially incorporated July 24, 2007 and was quickly invited to perform and premiere new works in numerous festivals, concerts and benefits. Nomi presents two self-produced concerts per season and continues to guest in different outside projects. Their artists have worked with numerous highly reputable companies and artists in addition to Nomi including the Lyric Opera, Joffrey Ballet, River North Chicago Dance, Madison Ballet, and many others.

Kariotis is proud to work with a group of eclectic, diverse, and highly motivated artists and taking on new looks, new works, new adventures, and their new name… Nomi Dance Company!!

With the Chicago dancescape saturated by strong contemporary companies, the mission of Nomi Dance Company is to bring an eclectic mix of dance styles to its audiences. Exploring every option and all forms of dance through its performances, Nomi executes the beauty of contemporary ballet, the intensity of jazz, and  the athleticism of modern, providing audiences with an experience of each and every one. The company also utilizes outside elements and joins forces with like-minded artists, companies and guest choreographers to keep performances both refreshing and innovative. With all that said, Nomi Dance Company is entertainment – straightforward and unadulterated.
