We’re gonna make it after all

Dance/USA, the annual convergence of many of dance’s greatest minds, settled smack in the middle of the country last weekend, and it’s safe to say that Minneapolis is overflowing with dance. In a dance-positive state that is thriving on corporate sponsorships and seemingly ample funding, there was perhaps no better place for this year’s Dance/USA conference.

July Newsletter: Dancing Outdoors

There’s lots to dance about this summer in Chicago. Whether you’re a first time fox-trotter or a seasoned funkster, you can kick up your heels, get down, swing to the beat, or sit back and watch the pro’s show you how it’s done, and it’s all outdoors, free, and open to the public, courtesy of The Chicago Park District and a few other enterprising dance innovators.

Featuring “Surge”, a world premiere collaboration between Elements and ADC that maximizes the artistic resources of both companies with multiple hanging silks, aerial dancers in rope-and-harness, and earth-bound ballerinas performing contemporary choreography beneath awe-inspiring aerial dance.
